The Pet Obesity Task Force (POTF) was conceived in 2008 as a UK-based, expert think-tank in relation to pet obesity.
The POTF operates as an unincorporated association with a steering committee made up of professionals involved in animal healthcare and welfare with extensive knowledge and experience of both the treatment and prevention of pet obesity.
Our vision...
Is to be where all those who care for pet animals recognise and understand the serious adverse health and welfare consequences of obesity and take all reasonable steps to prevent their animals from becoming overweight, including ensuring that their animals are properly fed and exercised. Also, the collective efforts of those working to prevent and treat obesity in pet animals are well co-ordinated, evidence-based, measured and effective.
Our mission...
Underpinned by science, experience and common sense, the POTF works to reduce the level* of pet obesity in the UK by raising awareness, improving knowledge, changing attitudes and changing human behaviour.
